In the late 1970s the Porsche 935 turbo, a high powered version of the 911 road car, dominated the endurace racing industry and many customer teams used the car all over the world.
The German-based Kremer team managed to secure the 1979 Le Mans race using the 935. Second place went to the actor Paul Newman racing in Dick Barbour's variant on the Porsche 935.
