Designed to comply with a supposed cost-reducing 750kg weight formula, the W25 debuted with a powerful 3.4 litre straight-eight engine. The story goes that the aluminium-bodied cars were stripped of their original white paintwork at their outing at Nurburgring, in order to comply with the new weight regulations - thus the cars were tagged by the press, the Silver Arrows.
