A jet fighter for the road... Lamborghini's Countach was the successor of the Miura. Basically, its concept and construction followed the technology of contemporary racing cars as closely as possible for a vehicle to be driven on public roads. Overall, the first prototype turned out to be a bit smaller, slightly lighter and considerably more powerful than the Miura.
Though the Countach started its career as a show car it soon turned into a genuine sports car available for “worthy” buyers only. Intentionally the Countach had not been considered a commercial success, yet in the end it allowed for the survival of low volume sports car manufacturer Lamborghini.
