On December 14th 1981, Maserati presented its new Biturbo to the technical press in Modena. On the Geneva car show in spring of 1982, the car was for the first time introduced to a large public. The attractive and sportive sedan was enthusiastically accepted, so as a result Maseratis' order books were quickly filled. However in the beginning the first customer cars kept on waiting, only a few months after the Geneva car show the first cars were delivered.
Premium driving performance, very good and complete equipment as well as the incomparable Maserati flair turned the Biturbo into an economic success. Nearly 39000 models of all versions were completed in the 12 years of production.
