Biante Collectors Club Newsletter - 6th September 2006
FinishlineThis weekend will be round 15 of the Formula 1 World Championship to be held at Monza in Italy. Last years winner was Juan Pablo Montoya. History will not repeat itself this year as Montoya is no longer apart of the Formula 1 Championship.
The current top three standings in the competition are detailed below:
1 Robin Julius 71pts
2 David Byard 60pts
3 Bob Stevenson 51pts
Selections must be entered by 5pm Perth time Friday 8th September 2006. Good Luck.
Muscle Car Masters
The 2nd running of the Australian Muscle Car Masters was held last weekend at Sydney's Eastern Creek raceway. Far better conditions greated fans and owners of some of Australia's most well known and desireable Australian road and racing cars. Legendary drivers and team managers such as Harry Firth, Allan Moffat, Fred Gibson, Leo Geoghegan, John French, John Sheppard, Steve Masterton, along with many others. Watching John Goss fire the big Jag into turn 1 chasing his old friend Kevin Bartlett in the Channel 9 Camaro with the Ford GTHO Super Falcon on their tail was a fantastic sight. Other cars of note that attended were the 1986 Chickadee VK Commodore which claimed 1st place at Bathurst (watched over by it's owner and driver Graeme Bailey), 1992 Bathurst winning Gibson Motorsport R23 Skyline GTR along with it's GIO stablemate, Bob Muir's Army Reserve XD Falcon as well as two of Peter Janson's VH Commodore's. The Club display was also very well attended with representation from the HDT club, GT Club, even the Leyland Owners Club which included a beautifully presented and extremely rare Leyland Force 7V. Even the HSV HRT 427 Coupe was on show with appropriate 'THE 427' custom numberplates.
All fans of motorsport of all era's would be sure to find something at the event that would be of interest to them so if you have a chance to attend next year please make sure you get along, you never know what might turn up!

This Weeks Releases
The next release in our Australian models program will be the 1985 ATCC winning BMW 635CSi driven by Jim Richards. This model is produced with the full permission and approval of Jim and is supplied with an individually signed certificate and flyer outlining the history behind this fantastic looking car. Quantities for this model have been limited to ONLY 1,300 pieces in total and is expected to sell very quickly. Be sure to be on site at 2pm Perth time on Wednesday the 6th of September to place your order. Product Code A88548.
Along with the Richards BMW Biante are now able to release the 2nd model in our Biante Racing Legends collection. The Brock/Perkins Porsche 956 that the two drivers raced under the Team Australia banner at the famouns Lemans 24hour race is sure to add another facet to a collection of 'Australian models'. This model will be made avialable at the same time as the Richards BMW. Product code BL68434.
